The event starts at 18:00 CET with a lecture by Henry Rammelt about the development of the film "Portavoce" which records the origins of a new political protest culture in Romania that contributed to the establishment of a new form of civil society in this Southeastern European country within the recent years. The lecture deals (too) with the question how curiosity and scientific interest could lead to a film with good publicity and discusses the possibilites, perhaps even the responsibility of science, to go public with observations and analyses.

"Portavoce“ show the origins of a new political protest culture in Romamania. Alongside the omnipresent corruption which determines Romania's perception in German media, new forms of political protest asserted themselves in this Southeastern European country within the recent years. The film shows by reference to central actors and actresses how the new protest movement in Romania developed from alternative forms of sociocultural interaction and contributed to the establishment of a new form of civil society that bears the political protest culture.
